OMAHA (KWWL) -

The hunt for a man suspected of shooting a Sioux City police officer has spread to Omaha.

Police are looking for Jamal Dean. Officers surrounded a block about a mile west of downtown Omaha Thursday night but didn't find Dean during the 90 minute search.

Dean is accused of shooting Officer Kevin McCormick. Dean is believed to have ties to the Omaha area.

According to a report, McCormick pulled over a car on Monday afternoon in Sioux City. McCormick was still in his cruiser when a man stepped out and shot at the officer with a rifle. McCormick was hit in the head. He has since been released from the hospital.

A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading the capture of Dean.
