Community Foundation of NE Iowa names Englin as new president

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa has named Kaye Englin as their new president and CEO.

Englin, who has been the Vice President for Advancement, Church Relations and Advocacy for Lutheran Services in Iowa for almost 11 years, will succeed Mary Ann Burk who is retiring after 20 years in the position.

"I am pleased that such a capable and experienced person is going to be leading the Community Foundation, to an even higher level of excellence, to benefit the citizens of the many communities we serve. Kaye has the passion and love for community that compliments her proven record of accomplishments in the area of development, finance, advocacy, leadership, and management. I look forward to working with her as we make this transition," Burk said in a written statement.

During her career at LSI, Englin's department is credited with securing more than $35 million in support of the organization's mission.

"Kaye's combination of business experience combined with a 11 year career dedicated to local philanthropic planning and management is a unique mix. Her background, combined with her passion for serving Northeast Iowa makes her a perfect fit as the next leader of the Community Foundation," John Monaghan, Community Foundation board chair, said in a written statement.

Englin worked in the financial services industry for more than 15 years before joining LSI in 2002. She was also the chairman of Bremwood Lutheran Service's board of directors.

Englin is originally from Audubon and has live in Waverly with her husband John for 29 years.

Englin will work along side Burk beginning on May 20 to ensure a smooth transition. Burk will retire on May 31.
