UPDATE W/ MUG SHOT: Independence sex assault investigation leads to arrest


A man was arrested on kidnapping charges Monday after an investigation into an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault that happened in Independence back in January.

Matthew Noack was arrested Monday after the four-month long investigation.

According to police, Noack followed a woman from a local bar during the early morning hours of January 13th. They say Noack then grabbed the woman near the intersection of 9th Avenue and 3rd Street in Independence and took her to a location near East Elementary School where he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.

According to Noack's Facebook page, he lives in Cedar Falls and is originally from Guttenberg. He states that he studied at Hawkeye Community College and worked at the Isle of Capri Casino.
Noack made his initial court appearance on Tuesday.
