WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Are you already starting to think about the weekend? Two Cedar Valley entrepreneurs want to help with that.

That's why they created a new smart phone app called Cedar Valley Hot Spots.

The free app is available for iPhone and Android. The app's creators say they've been surprised by just how much the Cedar Valley has to offer.

The app can surf for everything from restaurants to live concerts, movie showings and community events.

"It does it by GPS, so you can decide by where you're standing or by date," said Christina Peverill with Cedar Valley Hot Spots. "So you can plan ahead for date night Saturday on Wednesday by searching ahead to Saturday, seeing everything that's available and planning out your date that way."

Cedar Valley Hot Spots checks out dozens of websites and local bulletin boards to keep event postings updated.

Users can also submit events for free at CedarValleyHotSpots.com.
