Hudson students and staff evacuate high school due to small fire

School was disrupted at Hudson High School as students and teachers had to evacuate the building Tuesday morning due to a fire in the cafeteria kitchen.

Hudson firefighters and police officers were called to the high school building just after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Superintendent Tony Voss said something in the kitchen caught on fire and he wasn't immediately sure of the damages.

He says the evacuation went very smooth.

"Quick thinking on the part of our staff. Custodian was right there, pulled the fire extinguisher off the wall and got the fire out. It was just a small kitchen fire from what I've been told, but the staff performed amazing. They got all the kids over to the other building," said Voss.

Voss said they were going to feed the high school students in the elementary building.
