Upper Iowa University narrows president field to three

After meeting with eight semi-finalists last week, the Upper Iowa University Presidential Search Committee has narrowed the field to three finalists and have set the dates of their on-campus interviews.

Bill Cook, chair of the Presidential Search Committee, says the first finalist will visit April 29-30, the second will visit May 2-3 and the third finalist will visit May 6-7.

The names of the finalist are expected to be released later this week after the Board of Trustees meets.

The visits will include a series of public forums that are open to the public. The public forums will be held on the second day of each candidate's visit at 3:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. They will also be broadcast live on the Upper Iowa University home page, www.UIU.edu.

"The search committee met with semi-finalists for University president, and we were very impressed by their breadth and depth of experience. We have had an excellent response to the search process and look forward to having the entire University and our local community hear from the finalists. We will be recommending our finalists to the Board of Trustees and we remain on target to have a new president identified by July," said Cook in a written statement.
