At least 700 customers without power overnight in Waterloo


At least 700 Mid-American Energy customers in Waterloo went without power early Monday morning.

Tina Pothoff with Mid-American Energy says the outage was reported after 2 a.m. Impacted areas in Waterloo included the 200 block of Oaklawn Avenue, the 300 block of Westfield Avenue and the 3000 block of University Avenue.

Before 4 a.m., Pothoff reported many customers had their services restored with only about 25 customers still without power.

At this time there's no word as to what caused the power outages.
