UPDATE: Waterloo resident dies in train-car collision

The Iowa State Patrol says a Waterloo resident has died after a crash between a car and a train in Floyd County.  It happened at the 4th Street railroad crossing in Rudd just after 9 a.m. Saturday.  Troopers say 73-year-old Gary Eilers failed to yield at a yield sign when crossing the tracks.  That's when his pickup truck was hit by a westbound train.  Authorities say the train dragged the truck nearly 1/4 mile.  32-year-old Brian Leckness was a passenger in the truck.  He died at the scene.  Eilers was taken to a Rochester, Minn. hospital for treatment.
