SIOUX CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Thursday approved a gambling license for new casino in Woodbury County.

The proposed Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will be built in the Battery Building of Sioux City.

The project is expected to cost $118 Million.

The commission announced the decision at a meeting in Council Bluffs Thursday morning.

The license was expected, but could impact the commission's decision whether to approve a new casino for Linn County.

We contacted Linn County casino backers for their thoughts Thursday afternoon, but our calls have not been returned.
