Posted:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

As storms carrying heavy rain and wind pound Eastern Iowa, power companies are having to brave the weather to restore power to customers.

Alliant Energy outages as of 5:10 p.m.:

Cedar County - one customer without power
Keokuk County - 10 customers without power
Linn County - 10 customers without power

Earlier in the day, Alliant Energy was reporting that more than 3,000 customers were without power in Linn County alone.

MidAmerican Energy is not reporting any outages for customers in the Waterloo or Iowa City areas currently.

Linn County REC is reporting one customer without power. They are the only rural electric cooperative in the KWWL viewing area reporting any outages currently.
