Grinnell College hosts human trafficking forum


Human trafficking continues to be a major point of discussion in Eastern Iowa. Grinnell College is hosting a three-day program focused on human trafficking beginning Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

At 4:15 p.m., the program features Tina Frundt, the founder of an organization that helps survivors of sex trafficking.

An 8 p.m. panel discussion includes Michael Ferjak, a criminal investigator in the Iowa attorney general's office.

On Wednesday at 4:15 p.m., Professor Louise Shelley from the School of Public Policy at George Mason University will hold a question and answer session.

At 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jose Moya, professor of history at Barnard College and Columbia University, discusses historical and global perspectives.

On Thursday at 8 p.m., a documentary, "Dreams Die Hard," will be shown. It tells the stories of human trafficking victims.

The events will be in Room 101 of the Joe Rosenfield Center on the Grinnell campus.
