DYERSVILLE (KWWL) -

At the Dyersville City Council meeting Monday night, the new owners of the Field of Dreams, Michael and Denise Stillman, revealed an updated site plan for All-Star Ballpark Heaven.

That's the planned 24-field youth baseball and softball tournament and training facility, which is scheduled to open in summer of 2014, in time for the Field of Dreams film's 25th anniversary.

The updated site plan reveals two phases, with two clusters of six fields opening in the first phase and the remaining two clusters of six fields opening in the second, along with the training facility, community center and half of the clubhouse/dormitory buildings.

Denise Stillman said the original price tag of $38 million turned out to be too low. She said the first phase will come to about $38 million and the second phase will bring the total project cost up to $70 million.

Four of five city council members Monday night awarded the Stillmans and their company Go the Distance Baseball, LLC, a building permit and flood plain development permit for the sports complex.
