Study: Alcohol consumption may increase breast cancer risks

SEATTLE (KWWL) -

Alcohol consumption may increase a woman's risk of developing breast cancer. But drinking does not appear to increase the risk of dying from the disease.

A new study of 23,000 patients found breast cancer survival rates were not affected by a woman's alcohol use before or after her diagnosis. In fact, women who were moderate drinkers before developing breast cancer were 15% less likely to die from heart disease than non-drinkers.
