Morning sickness drug available once again

A drug once taken by many pregnant women to treat morning sickness will be available once again.

30 years ago, Bendectin was pulled off the market after hundreds of lawsuits blamed the drug for birth defects. But the safety scare turned out to be a false alarm.

The FDA has approved a newer version of the drug called Diclegis. It will be available by prescription beginning in June. The creator of the new drug has long sold a generic version of the pill in Canada under another name, Diclectin.
