UPDATE: Man arrested for hit-and-run in Waterloo

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo Police have arrested a man they say was involved in a hit-and-run that injured a child Monday night.   31-year-old Justin Varney of Waterloo faces charges related to the incident, which took place on the 2300 block of Lafayette Street in Waterloo around 7 p.m. Monday.

An 8-year-old boy sustained minor injuries in the incident. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center, and treated for injuries to his right leg and left arm before being released.

Varney is in the Black Hawk County Jail facing charges related to the hit-and-run as well as a probation violation.
