TAMA (KWWL) -

Tama police have confirmed to KWWL there was a bus accident on O Avenue, north of County Road E-43 on the northeast side of Toledo.

The South Tama School District says nine children between kindergarten and 12th grade were on the bus at the time.

The bus was on a gravel road with a soft edge when it went off the edge and turned.

Two children received minor injuries, but were evaluated by EMTs on site and released.

The driver of the bus also received minor injuries. An alternate bus driver has been assigned to the bus route.

Officials don't know how much damage there was to the bus.

The tow company on site told KWWL the bus had been on its side in the ditch. They flipped it right side up before towing it away.

No names are being released immediately. South Tama School District is conducting an investigation.
