CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

Three dogs were rescued after fire broke out in a Coralville home on Thursday night.

Coralville Fire Chief Dave Stannard says crews were called to 738 13th Avenue at around 8 p.m. Friday for a report of a kitchen fire.

The two people inside the home escaped without injury. Three dogs were also rescued from the home.

Stannard says there was heavy fire, heat and smoke damage to the kitchen, living room and outside porch area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Stannard says the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen.
