Cedar Rapids Police arrested Kenneth Terry after an alleged police chase Thursday morning.
Police say they first tried to pull over the vehicle around 10:10 a.m. after the driver made an illegal turn from 5th Ave. onto 18th St. SE
According to police, the car turned westbound on Bever Avenue SE, ran the stop sign at Bever and 3rd Ave. SE, turned east on 3rd Ave., then north on 16th St. SE. At times, the car was clocked driving 60 miles per hour in 30 miles per hour zones. Police say Terry drove through an alley before he parked in a lot on 1st Ave., got out and ran.
Police apprehended him behind 1503 2nd Ave SE.
Terry was treated and released from a local hospital.
He faces charges for speeding, disobedience to a traffic control device, turning from improper lane, no issuance, driving while under suspension and attempting to elude and interfere with official acts.
