Baylor hammers Iowa, 74-54, for NIT Championship

NEW YORK CITY (KWWL) -

Cory Jefferson scored a game-high 23 points while senior Pierre Jackson added 17 points and 10 assists as the Baylor Bears crushed the Iowa Hawkeyes, 74-54, to win the NIT Championship in New York City.

The Hawkeyes were led by Mike Gessell, who came off the bench to score 13 points.

Aaron White score 12 points for the Hawks, who trailed the entire game.

Iowa shot just 26 percent from the field as it ends the season with a 25-13 record.
