BUCHANAN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A legal assistant with the Buchanan County Attorney's Office confirmed the three adults arrested in connection with a dog abuse case have filed written arraignments which will be reviewed Friday morning.

A few weeks ago, Jesup police arrested A.J. Michael Sellers, Kelsey Renae Block, and Ty Alyn Hickman, all of Jesup, for animal torture.

Police believe the three are connected to the animal torture and starvation of a dog nicknamed "Caleb" by the public after he was found.

The dog was found dead, covered in feces and urine, inside a crate that was dumped alongside Independence Avenue in Waterloo in February.

A spokesman from the Buchanan County Attorney's Office said the three adults arrested for the crime will not appear in court Friday.

She said a judge is expected to set trial dates for Sellers, Block and Hickman sometime next week.
