DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL) -

Thousands of people lined the Dubuque County Fairground parking lot as volunteers filled the lot with 32,000 plastic Easter eggs. Saturday morning Cumulus Broadcasting sponsored the 11th annual Tri-States Largest Easter Egg Hunt. This year, the hunt was moved to the fairgrounds parking lot, as opposed to the fields the event had been located in years past. The parking lot posed problems for kids and adults looking to pick that perfect egg, as wind moved many of the eggs to different locations.

Chris Farber is an employee of Cumulus Broadcasting. He also helped plan the event. He said due to the unusually long winter, the fields proved to be just to muddy to hold the hunt.

"It's actually humorous because we never had an issue with eggs blowing away. But of course, when they are on cement and not in the grass you have an issue with the winds pushing the eggs" said Farber.

The event held a set of two Easter egg hunts, one for children 6 years old and under and a second for those of all ages. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
