Pella High School student arrested after posting Facebook threat

A central Iowa high school student faces criminal charges after she posted a threat to Facebook.

"It was roughly that she wanted to put an incendiary device or a bomb of some type in Pella High school, and made a certain threat to a certain staff member," said Lt. Shane Cox with the Pella Police.

School officials and police took the threat seriously. The unnamed student is charged with a threat of arson.

The principal told parents no children or staff were in danger, and said the threats were not considered viable.

The girl is now being held at Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Facility in Eldora.
