Cedar Rapids police investigating morning stabbing


Cedar Rapids Police are investigating an early morning stabbing.

Officers were called to the 1800 block of Sixth Avenue SE at around 1:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a stabbing, according to Sgt. Cristy Hamblin.

Jacob Hankel, 19, was stabbed in the stomach and taken to the hospital for treatment, according to reports. He is expected to survive.

Hankel described his attacker as a black male, 6'7" tall, 325 pounds with dreadlocks and facial hair, according to reports.

Police are still investigating the incident.
