Pony Express Riders make trek to Camp Sunnyside

The Pony Express Riders of Iowa are making the trek to Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines Friday and Saturday.

The ride started Friday morning in Decorah and will end Saturday in Des Moines. Each rider carries the bag of donations for about a mile and then passes it off, eventually ending at Camp Sunnyside. The camp is there to help people with disabilities.

Towns along the way will hold collection points. Saturday's route will include stops in Morrison, Grundy Center, Conrad and Marshalltown.

This years goal is to collect more than $300,000 statewide.
