A Cedar Falls teen police say posted a threat against Cedar Falls High School on Twitter has been arrested.

Chief Jeff Olson says 18-year-old Kale Clay was arrested on Monday and charged with threats to commit arson.

Police say Clay sent out a Tweet on February 19 that said "When I blow up the Cedar Falls High School I will be doing everyone a favor."

When police interviewed Clay, he said he was just upset and didn't intend to carry out the threat.

Police say they didn't find any explosives at his home or at the school.

In Iowa, a Class D felony is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a potential fine of $750 to $7,500.
