Wrecker loses cement truck on Interstate 80

A scary situation on Interstate 80 Friday, luckily ended with no one hurt.

A wrecker towing a cement truck became separated - allowing the cement truck to become free on the roadway!  The cement truck then rolled on its side.  The crash happened near the West Branch exit Friday afternoon.

The wreck damaged the truck and the cable median, but luckily, nothing else.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened because there was an issue with the rear dual wheels of the cement truck.  The brakes locked, causing it to separate.

The crash blocked eastbound interstate traffic for about an hour and a half.
