Two men were arrested Wednesday night after the 5 Star Snacks and More on Sullivan Avenue was robbed at gunpoint.

Captain Tim Pillack says officers were called to the store at 437 Sullivan Avenue at around 11:18 p.m. Wednesday for an armed robbery.

According to police, witnesses said a man walked in to the store with a 12-gauge flare gun and wearing a mask. Pillack says no money was taken and no one was injured.

After witnesses gave a description of the get-away vehicle, officers found it a short time later at the 5 Star Snacks and More at 315 Fletcher Avenue.

Officers watched the vehicle, and when it left, they stopped it at Fletcher Avenue and Sergeant Road.

The driver, Michael Todd Gillum, Jr., 20, of Reinbeck, was arrested. Gillum was the only person in the vehicle at the time and is accused of being the get-away driver. He is charged with first-degree robbery.

Officers found Casey Lee Pierce, 19, of Waterloo, a short time later. He is accused of going into the store and attempting to rob it. He is also charged with first-degree robbery.
