WATERLOO (KWWL) -
Girls in the Cedar Valley are getting help when it comes to getting the right prom dress this year. It's thanks to Prom's Closet. The Junior League of Waterloo and Cedar Falls collected donated dresses for the last two months. Saturday, girls could shop for dresses at Crossroads Center for the low price of $10. More than 300 girls took advantage of the good deal.
"A lot of the girls are looking for the brighter the better...it doesn't matter if they are long or short, as long as they are really bright in color. That is...what is the dress of the year", said Jill Waddle, Junior League.
The sale of more than 150 dresses over the last two days raised at least $1,200 that will go back into community projects in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area.
