UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal Postville apartment fire

POSTVILLE (KWWL) -

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the victim of a fatal apartment fire in Postville Wednesday morning.

Authorities say 61-year-old Marlin P. Schutte died in the blaze.  It happened shortly before 11 a.m. in the 600 block of West Post Street. It took crews 25 minutes to suppress the fire.

2 others in a nearby apartment received minor injuries.

The apartment is considered to be a total loss due to an explosion that made the building unstable.
