There is no job like that of pope. He is the CEO of a global enterprise, head of state, a moral voice in the world and, in the eyes of Roman Catholics, Christ's representative on earth. And the man who emerged as pontiff from the conclave Wednesday has a particularly crushing to-do list.
VATICAN CITY (KWWL) -

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, Argentina, was named the new pope, the Vatican announced just after 2 p.m. central time Wednesday.

Bergoglio, 76, is the new leader of the Catholic Church. His name will be Pope Francis I.

White smoke appeared from the chimney on top of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City just after 1 p.m. central daylight time Wednesday, signifying that a new pope was elected.

The 115 cardinals from around the world chose the next Pope to serve the Catholic Church.
