Extra sleep gives home schooled students academic edge, study reports

Home schooled students may have an academic edge over their rational schooling counterparts, and that's because they are getting more sleep, according to NBC News.

According to a new study, students who are schooled at home slept an average of 90 more minutes per night than those attending public or private schools. That adds up to almost an entire night's extra sleep by the end of the week.

Experts say this extra sleep may help students be more prepared to learn.

Many researchers have suggested that high school students begin classes later, because physical changes in their bodies make it harder to get to sleep and wake up earlier.
