Two-car crash in Linn County injures three

LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

Three people are hurt following a crash near Marion Sunday morning. It happened at the intersection of Highway 13 and Prairie Chapel Road. Deputies say a car driven by 23-year-old Tessa Weigel of Marion broadsided a car driven by 78-year-old Norman Nielson of Marion as it was pulling onto the highway. Nielson's vehicle came to rest in the median where it caught fire. Weigel was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital and is expected to survive. Nielson and a passenger were taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital with serious injuries.
