DES MOINES (KWWL) -
Iowa City West finished on top again. The Trojans won their 52nd straight game securing a class 4A title with a 54-36 victory over Bettendorf Saturday night.
Wyatt Lohaus led West High with 22 points as the Trojans became just the second class 4A team in state history to repeat as champions.
The Trojans dominated most of the season, but their run nearly ended in the tournament's opening round. West overcame a 6 point deficit in the final minute to defeat West Des Moines Dowling in overtime, prior to becoming the state champs.
