Woman dies after Jackson County crash

JACKSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

One woman died and two others were injured after a crash in Jackson County Thursday night.

It happened on Highway 64 and 24th Street at 6:50 p.m.

Authorities say a car driven by 83-year-old Jacqueline Fisher of Lost Nation crossed the center line and hit another car driven by 30-year-old Zachary Schmidt.

Fisher was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Schmidt and his passenger, 24-year-old Bridgit Moran, both of Maquoketa were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not available. 

The accident remains under investigation.
