DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival is gearing up for its second year in the key city.

At the festival's reveal party Thursday evening, organizers announced the films and special guests for the event, which runs April 4-7 in Dubuque.

The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival attracted some 3,000 people last year and organizers expect to double that this year.

"We had a first year where people didn't know really what to expect, and I think now we've given them a taste of something, so they're kind of eager to show up and take another bite out of it," co-founder Christopher Kulovitz said.

"Especially based on the questions we've received about the schedule and when the films are," co-founder Michael Coty added. "We know there's a great deal of interest that we didn't have last year."

The team said they had approximately 170 films submitted this year for the festival and narrowed it down to about 50.
