Dubuque city council turns down pets in parks proposal

In a five to one vote, the Dubuque City Council said no to pets in city parks.

The proposed ordinance would allow cats or dogs in city parks on a leash. Council members say letting pets into city parks is a saftey issue.

This was the first vote on the issue. The issue is expected to return for further consideration on March 18th.
