Waverly residents clean up, but say it's not that bad

WAVERLY (KWWL) -

Road crews were hard at work Tuesday morning across Eastern Iowa, clearing highways and city streets. In Waverly, road crews say it's only a typical Iowa snow.

The Waverly Streets Department says they had their trucks out well before sunrise Tuesday morning. There were 13 trucks out to clear the streets.

They say it is tiring to work three storms in less than two weeks, but it's nothing they can't handle.

"Going back, to back, to back that tends to get the guys tired and myself but otherwise the start of the winter wasn't that bad," said Brian Sullivan, Waverly Streets Department Manager.

Ed Hill, who is almost 75 years old, said the storm wasn't so bad.

In fact, he said he remembers when a snow storm in the 1970s that hit the area in April  and dumped 15 inches.

He said he worked in town and wasn't able to make it to work.
