We had some light snow Monday night. The snow reports were mainly 3" or less across eastern Iowa. That was just a taste of what is expected overnight and Tuesday morning.

WINTER STORM WARNINGS are posted for much of eastern Iowa through Tuesday.

An area of low pressure will track southeast tonight across South Dakota and into Iowa Tuesday morning. The low will dissipate Tuesday afternoon.

Snow develops overnight going into Tuesday morning. Heavy snow is possible from midnight to noon Tuesday. The snow will taper off from NW to SE during the early-mid afternoon hours.

The wind will be strong at 15-25 mph from the north. Blowing snow is expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. The wind will diminish Wednesday morning.

The image to the left is the snow forecast for Monday night and Tuesday. This DOES NOT included what fell Sunday night.

High pressure will move across the middle of the country Wednesday and Thursday with sunshine and a light wind. Clouds roll back into the picture Friday.

I am tracking another storm to impact us this weekend. This storm will take a different path and bring us chances of rain both Saturday and Sunday. It does turn colder Monday with chances of the rain changing to snow before ending as the low pulls away.
