IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Iowa City Police have arrested a woman they say stole a dog from a local store.
Diana Rae Chance, 45, of Tiffin, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the theft of a poodle puppy valued at $1,799.99 from Petland in Iowa City.
Chance allegedly was caught on camera taking the dog on Feb. 22. The dog was recovered by police and returned to the store.
Chance was also charged with second-degree theft and possession of stolen property after officers recovered a second Dachshund puppy they say was also stolen from Petland in September 2012. That dog was valued at $1,499.99.
