Police find and charge suspect after Waterloo motel fire

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Police have arrested a man they say was making meth after a fire at a Waterloo motel this month.

Police found 21-year-old Terry Kiefer in Mason City on Thursday.

He's charged with making meth and charged with arson.

Authorities were looking for him after arresting 24-year-old Megan Hemmer after the fire happened at the Econolodge on University Avenue in Waterloo February 16th.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
