UNI Men fall short at Southern Illinois

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KWWL) -

After winning six in a row, the UNI men have now dropped two straight following a 63-57 loss at Southern Illinois.

UNI drops to 10-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference and 17-13 overall. The loss also snaps UNI's six-game MVC win streak.
 
SIU led 7-0 early, but Panthers rallied to tie at 14-14.
 
SIU closed the half on a 17-5 run to take a 39-24 lead at the break.
 
SIU led 48-33 with 11:05 left in the game.
 
UNI went on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 48-43 with 4:43 left. SIU did not score from the 11:05 mark of the second half, until the 2:05 mark of the second half.
 
UNI was led in scoring by Marc Sonnen with 18 points. Deon Mitchell handed out eight assists.
