Posted: Updated:

Police are searching for a heavyset white male in an Oxford Junction bank robbery this morning.

The Jones County Sheriff's office was called to Citizens State Bank on West Broadway Street just before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police say a lone white male entered the bank with a pistol in hand. He then announced the robbery and went behind the teller counter, according to reports.

Tellers complied with his demands, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The Jones County Sheriff's office says no one was injured.

The suspect then left in a blue and silver full-size pickup truck parked just outside the front door. The truck was last seen traveling northbound on Highway 136.

The suspect is described as a white male from 5'10" to 6' tall with heavy build and brown eyes. He was wearing a gray or blue hooded sweatshirt, a ski cap and black gloves. He was carrying a semiautomatic pistol.

The suspect also had a bushy black beard which officers say may or may not have been fake.

The robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Jones County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact the FBI at (402) 493-8688 or the Jones County Sheriff's Office at (319) 462-4371.
