Maquoketa Valley upsets #3 IKM in quarterfinals

Number 14 Maquoketa Valley is moving on after pulling a 65-57 upset against #3 IKM Manning in the opening round of the class 2A girls state basketball tournament.

Brooke Wooten led the way hitting 3-5 from three point range while tallying 19 total points.  Renee Huber and Heidi Hoeger added 17 and 11 respectively in the win.

Maquoketa Valley took the lead from IKM just 3 minutes in to the first half and never trailed the rest of the way.  The Wildcats would hold a 47-31 lead after three quarters and held off all IKM attempts to get back in to the game in the 4th.

Maquoketa Valley (20-5) advances to face Lawton-Bronson (25-1) in Thursday's semifinals.
