CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
Superintendent Mike Wells withdrew his resignation at Monday night's Cedar Falls School Board meeting.
Wells tells KWWL that he would resign if the board would not support him on an undisclosed problem.
Earlier Monday, School Board President Deon Senchina told KWWL that an email was sent to staff Monday afternoon indicating that Wells might resign.
Senchina said there is no indication of why he might be departing, and that the board is not asking for his contract to be terminated.
Mike Wells is in his first year as district superintendent. He replaced David Stoakes, who retired at the end of last school year.
