Waterloo fire officials pull stolen car from river

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo Fire and Rescue had quite the task Monday morning.

A passerby found a vehicle in the Cedar River off of Hackett Road.

Waterloo Police say no one was in the vehicle at the time. Police say the car was stolen.

Police say they still don't know yet who stole the car.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
