WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo police say a woman chased away two would-be burglars with a can of shaving cream on Friday night.

Captain Tim Pillack said officers were called to 1019 Lafayette Street at around 8:10 p.m. Friday after a report of two subjects kicking in the door of the house.

When officers arrived, the woman told them that two men kicked in her front door and came inside.

The woman met them at the stairs and swung at them with a shaving cream can in her hand, then told police the men left the house without taking anything, according to reports.

Pillack said officers found a van matching the description of the one that was seen driving away from the house.

Pillack said Curtis James Williams, 19, Deantay Darelle Williams, 17, Columbus Tre Lawrence, 20, and Tramaine Terrell Gary, 19, all of Waterloo, were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
