Hawks drop 19 point lead in loss to Nebraska

Posted:

All signs point to the NIT after Iowa was unable to protect a 19 point first half lead as they'd falter down the stretch losing to Nebraska 64-60.  The loss snapped the Hawks' 3 game winning streak.

Nebraska's Dylan Talley put the nail in the coffin with a shot clock buzzer beating 3 pointer to break a 60-60 tie with 12 seconds left.  Iowa's Mike Gessell has last second shot clang harmlessly off the iron in the final seconds that would have tied the game.

Talley scored 18 points and Shavon Shields added 17 for Nebraska.  Roy Devyn Marble had 18 points, Aaron White 15 and Eric May 10 for the Hawkeyes (17-10, 6-8).
