IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa City Police say a stolen puppy has been returned to an Iowa City pet store Friday, thanks to the public's help in identifying the thief.

Sunday, a young woman and her daughter were caught on surveillance video stealing a golden miniature poodle puppy from Petland. The video showed a woman with blonde hair holding a Dachshund puppy walking through the store.

Petland owner Ron Solsrud said the woman entered the store with a Dachshund puppy and played with other pets in the store before taking the miniature poodle and leaving the store.

Friday, police reported the dog has been returned, unharmed.

Charges are pending.
