Inaugural Ed Thomas Legacy Clinic set for May 4

The inspirations and visions of Coach Ed Thomas will come alive at the First Ed Thomas Legacy Clinic for coaches and athletes.

The inaugural clinic is set for Saturday, May 4, at the Aplington-Parkersburg High School, in Parkersburg.

The five-hour, two-session, clinic, sponsored by the Ed Thomas Family Foundation, will feature numerous guest speakers, including former National Football League players, Aaron Kampman and Casey Wiegmann, who played for Coach Thomas, along with Olympic wrestling legend, Dan Gable.

Organizers say the clinic is for both coaches and young people, and designed for coaches to share their own special methods of teaching young athletes the kinds of character qualities inspired by Coach Ed Thomas.

The clinic has a basic philosophy: "If you improve the character of a young person, you will improve their athletic performance."
