IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The owner of an Iowa City pet store wants a stolen puppy returned.

On Sunday, a young woman and her daughter were caught on surveillance video stealing a golden miniature poodle puppy from Petland.

Petland owner Ron Solsrud says the woman has blonde, shoulder length hair and was wearing a black jacket with a blue blouse underneath.

The daughter was wearing a white pullover jacket and pink pants.

The owner says the woman entered the store with a Dachshund puppy and played with other pets in the store before taking the miniature poodle and leaving the store.

Solsrud said the store, in operation for more than 10 years, does more than 500 adoptions per year.

"We are very concerned since it is a 'baby' and has special needs as a result," he said.
